Student Code of Conduct

We’re excited to have you at the Shamrock Shake! This is your dance — a chance to have fun, hang out with friends, play some games, and enjoy some great music. To make sure everyone has a good time and stays safe, here’s what we need from you.

What We Expect

✔   Be respectful. Treat other students, volunteers, and staff the way you’d want to be treated. Keep your hands to yourself.

✔   Stay for the whole event. Once you’re checked in, you’re here until 4:00 PM. The only way to leave early is if your parent or guardian comes to the exit and signs you out in person. No exceptions.

✔   Stay in the event areas. That means the MPR (dance floor and games), the outdoor food area, and the designated bathrooms.

✔   Drop your backpack at check-in. All bags go in the rollups. You can get them back at the end. We’re not responsible for lost or stolen items.

✔   Follow the food rules. Food and drinks stay outside at the lunch tables. No food inside the gym or MPR. Your wristband gets marked when you pick up food, so everyone gets their share.

✔   Listen to the adults. Volunteers and staff are here to keep things running smoothly. If someone asks you to do something (or stop doing something), please cooperate.

✔   Look out for each other. If you see something that doesn’t feel right, or if a friend needs help, tell a volunteer or staff member.

What Not to Do

No roughhousing, pushing, or moshing. We want everyone to go home in one piece. Dance all you want, but keep it safe.

No loitering in bathrooms. Use the bathroom and come back. The bathrooms are not a hangout spot.

No leaving without a parent. You can’t walk out on your own, and friends’ parents can’t sign you out. It has to be your parent or guardian, in person, at the exit.

No going through other people’s stuff. The backpack storage area is monitored. Don’t touch anything that isn’t yours.

No sneaking food inside. Seriously — the gym floor can’t handle it. Eat outside, then come back in.

What Happens If Someone Breaks the Rules?

We’re not trying to be strict for the sake of being strict. But if someone is making it unsafe or unpleasant for others, here’s how it works: you will receive a warning first. If it continues, a school administrator will step in. In serious situations, your parent or guardian will be called to pick you up early. We really don’t want that to happen — and neither do you.

Getting Home

The dance ends at 4:00 PM. Your parent or guardian picks you up using the regular valet loop — same as normal school pickup. If they need to get you early, they come to the exit door and sign you out. No walk-ups, no exceptions.

That’s it! Follow these basics and you’re set for a great time.

See you at the Shamrock Shake!
